The artist collective nüans (2006-2016) was co-founded by artist Maki Umehara, German artists Anna Heidenhain and Elmar Herman; and had been based in Düsseldorf and Istanbul. While introducing the project by nüans, the author explored collaboration and the archive not only in the context of art history but also within the tradition of a society, paying attention to the problem of societal newcomers in an attempt to broaden the discussion. This book has revealed that the repetitive motion of constant perception that occurred through communication with art and archives led to the creation of new art forms, and what sort of creation generated from there.
